Hi, I'm Josie!
I am a Body Control Pilates Teacher and Sports Therapist. I have been a partner at Everest Health & Fitness for over seven years, with over ten years of experience overall in this industry. I have worked with a variety of people from 13 year olds to 70+ year olds, and I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience I’ve gained. There is absolutely no better feeling than knowing you’ve made a real difference to someone’s life.
I first came across Pilates following a problematic appendicitis that had left me constantly fatigued with decreased strength. From going to Pilates classes I restored my strength, developed my core and found energy I had never had before. Since then, I never ever looked back!
Knowing first hand how well Pilates works during rehabilitation and also the potential it has to improve athletic ability, I felt inspired to teach it. Training with Body Control Pilates was an amazing experience that has given me not only a useful set of teaching skills, but also a valuable perspective on the human anatomy through movement.
Body Control Pilates is a clinical method of practising Pilates that draws on medical and sports research. Each exercise has clinical relevance and has functional reasoning. Body Control Pilates lessons will always be taught with anatomical relevance and with the aim to improve the function of each joint in the body.
