Hi,  I'm Josie!

I am a Pilates Teacher and Sports Therapist, with over twelve years of experience in this industry.  I have worked with a variety of people from 13 year olds to 70+ year olds, and I have enjoyed it immensely!  There is absolutely no better feeling than knowing you’ve made a real difference to someone’s life.

Why I teach Pilates.

I first came across Pilates following a burst appendix that had left me constantly fatigued with decreased strength. I was incredibly low both physically and mentally.  Going to Pilates classes restored my strength, developed my core and gave me energy I had never had before.  Since then, I never ever looked back!

​Knowing first hand how well Pilates works during rehabilitation and also the potential it has to improve athletic ability, I felt inspired to use it when helping people resolve and manage pain. 

My Training.

I graduated university in 2012 with a Sports Therapy degree. This course gave me a really deep understanding of anatomy, what happens when we contract a condition or become injured and then how to resolve or reduce the issue. 

In 2017 I trained with Body Control Pilates - what an amazing experience! I looked at anatomy during movement from different angles and developed a really useful set of teaching skills. As
​Body Control Pilates is a clinical method of practising Pilates, it fits really well with my background and works amazingly with injuries and managing conditions - particularly back pain.

Since then I've done more training in Pilates including applying it to runners and pre/post natal. I also continue to deepen my understanding of Pilates and of anatomy during movement every day and at every opportunity!

Can I help you?

If I've learnt anything over the years, it's that every single body is different, even if they have been diagnosed with the exact same problem. I can never guarantee miracles, but I always give it my best shot! My particular interest and experience lies with back pain and hip pain, so if you're suffering with either of those, you've come to the right place.
